A Place of Art and Culture in Metz
Chapelle
Sainte-Blandine
An alternative, artistic and cultural space, to organize concerts, theater, shows, exhibitions, residencies but also to host private and professional events.
Culture & Events
An alternative and original space
In collaboration with our artistic partners, the cultural center of the Sainte-Blandine Chapel offers a rich, eclectic, and lively program throughout the year.
The Grande Chapelle and Petite Chapelle are particularly welcoming cultural venues, on a human scale, open to the public for exhibitions, plays, readings, lectures, and concerts.
To ensure a rich and eclectic program, we work with professional artistic partners eager to perform in these symbolic and charming venues.
Theater companies, artists, associations, and professional musical ensembles form a network chosen for the quality of their performances and their generous commitment to culture, through exhibitions, performances, and residencies.
Some partners of the Chapelle Sainte-Blandine: Sybaris (classical music), L’Armonia degli Affetti (baroque music), CoDa (contemporary art), Le Poulpe (live performance), La Bande Passante (object theater), l’Orchestre imaginaire (contemporary music).

The project leaders
Philippe Cossalter and Asta Dambrauskaite are two law professors with a passion for culture. They decided to take charge of the restoration of the Sainte-Blandine Chapel, transforming it into an art space in the heart of the city of Metz. Their complementary passions for the graphic arts, particularly sculpture and painting, as well as for music, literature, and poetry, find a new home in the Chapel.
A bit of history
The Sainte-Blandine Chapel is the deconsecrated chapel of the former Sainte-Blandine hospital.
Consecrated in 1909, it is one of the last major buildings constructed during the annexation, a few years after the Temple Neuf and Metz train station.
A symbolic, human-scale venue, ideally located in the city center, boasting elegant architecture and spaces conducive to meetings and exchanges.
The renovation of the Chapel opens the prospect of a new use as a Third Place of Art and Culture open to the public.
It is also an event venue located in the heart of the city, open to certain types of private events: conferences, team-building events, seminars, presentations, business or family meals, birthdays, private recitals, etc.
A new story is being written for this unique and charming venue, centered around two core activities: culture and event hosting.
